Deepali Jamwal
Deepali wears many hats: an MBA in finance, a dance lover, a Mom, and an immigrant building an empire. She started Live2Dance, a South Asian dance group in 2016 with one goal: to build community through dance. Live2Dance grew from this goal to something much greater and moved from an after-work hobby to the community’s home away from home.
In August 2019, Deepali decided to step away from her corporate career and focus on Live2Dance full time. Little did she know a global pandemic was just around the corner. Just like several other small businesses, Live2Dance was forced to shut down and Deepali lost the dance studio that was home to the 500 members of the Live2Dance community. However, she did not lose faith in the people and decided to go even bigger to build another home for this community. A year after starting again from scratch, Live2Dance today is the largest dance group in Seattle. Live2Dance has helped hundreds of people survive the pandemic and navigating all of life’s challenges.
Live2Dance is a true example of a business that took the pandemic heads on and came out stronger. Deepali dedicates her success to her community. She says, “There’s no shortcut to success. Keep hustling and stay focused. Build yourself a strong community, and believe in it”. Live2dance is a true testament to the power of dancing your worries away.
